SpaceX Aiming to Reuse 100% of it’s Rocket

A couple of weeks ago, SpaceX successfully reused a previously loved first stage Falcon 9 Rocket.

Elon Musk Tweeted on Friday, saying he had a good level of confidence that they could reuse the upper stage too by the end of next year to achieve 100% re-usability.

It currently costs $61.2 million to launch a Falcon 9 rocket. The fuel itself cost $200,000-$300,000. Being able to re-use the entire rocket would significantly reduce launch costs.

With pressure coming from NASA for SpaceX to launch more frequently this year, this is good news.

Elon Musk said the goal is to be able to launch, land, and launch again the next day, on re-usable rockets.

This would essentially create a highway into the solar system.
